EVALUATION: Q1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

The conventions of film openings are the introduction of the main characters as well as the theme of having a murder, the weapon used in the murder being shown, the sense of the character for example if they look like the stereotypical evil looking killer and also the use of spilt screen as well as the use of images and text. As a group we followed these conventions as they were effective in terms of getting the audiences attention and adding tension. The idea was taken from the film "Mesrine" below.

                                                                  "Reminisce"

This use of intertextuality effective as we followed these same conventions in our own film opening but made it into our own.

The killing scene that shows a mid shot/close up of the knife follows the conventions of many other fims, an example of a film that does this is "The Stepfather".

Our film opening follows the conventions of film openings. The order of the title sequences goes as follows:

- Production logo
- Distribution
- Producer
- Music
- Costume Designer
- Editor
- Actors
- Title of the Film.

"Reminisce" follows the similar conventions that "Panic Room" follows.

However in this the title film appears in the middle of the sequence and ours is shown at the end. I think that it develops and challenges forms and conventions of real media products as it looks realistic and they are laced in places that suits the nature of the film.

The film also followed conventions of having a murderer. In most thriller films that feature a killer, they tend to wear dark colours. In "Reminisce" the killer wears black clothing to symbolise that she is the  "evil one".  The killer, Michael Myers from the "Halloween" seriers of slasher film wears dark clothing and carries a knife.
