structure of film openings

There are different types of structures for film openings. the three basic structures are;

A Discrete opening

this structure is where the title sequence is appeared over a black screen, showing credits to casts, producers ans actors. throughout this structure there would normally be no pictures or links about the film, no information is given away. however is the are short glimpse of pictures or videos it usually does not have any relation to the film but it does give a sense of what type of film it is.

An example of this would be Se7en

A narrative opening

this usually is an opening structure with the titles running throughout with no action interrupting in between.
the opening credits is shown closely together in terms or timing

an example of this would be Panic room

Titles over a blank screen

this structure is usally followed by a narrative opening. the opening credits are shown over a blank screen with sound in the background, th the film would start.

an example of this would be Donnie Darko

Extra- 'stylised editing'

the taking of pelham 123 2009

straight away in this opening structure we can see the editing used to give  stylized effect. the company production logo id edited by having it zoomed in from a small box with sound effect that lonks t the theme of the movie. the pening credits are slidded arcoss the screen as the effect of a train. after the beginnging of the film is either sped up in pace of slowed down into slow motion.
