genre and sub-genre

Film genres are classified as the type of movie it wil be e.g comedy, romance, action etc we are concentrting on thriller. futhermore a sub genre breaks down that category into more defined genres thats is added

For example subgenres for thrilers could be;

• comedy e.g scary movie
• horror e.g saw
• sci-fi e.g alien vs predator
• drama e.g unkown
• action e.g taken
• phycological e.g Arlington road

i think memento is a good exalple of a sub genre in thriller, it is a Phycological thriller.
the key signifiers are the polaroid fades instead of getting more detailed, the blood, the gun and the killing.
this could influence my groups film opening because we use this sub genre as one of our options when planning.
