1) How many suspense films were released in 2010? There were 38
2) In total, how much did these suspense films take, gross, to the nearest million? 40,000,000
3) Which genre of film had the highest gross in 2010? Action/Adventure
4) What was the most popular family genre in 2010? Animation
5) Write a short paragraph of about 200 words about how the figures for suspense genre films compare with other genres in 2010.
In 2010, the figures for the suspense genre were higher in comparison to the documentary genre figures. This shows that although there were more documentary films in that genre released, there was a difference between the amount of suspense films released and the documentary films released. Suspense films had a total of 28 films making a profit of £42,441,123. The documentary films however had released 57 films and made a profit of £1,834,067.
This shows that documentary films were less popular to the audience compared to suspense films. Also the percentages show that in the box office ratings, documentary films were only 0.2% and suspense films were 4.2%. Horror films however had produced two films before the suspense films but still had a higher gross rate of £45,131,491 and 4.5% at the box office. In conclusion, from the information I gathered that suspense films are more favorited than documentary films with audiences and that horror films tend to be more popular than suspense films.
