The main coventions that is a consisered in film openings are; what actions will be displayed, the name of the cast ( this can be done with effects and transitions or even apperaing next to the character that they will be playing), the name of the film at he same time the font and size is taken into account so it fits the theme, name of the director and company (this is usally done at the very beginning of the opening, shown with the companies logo), finally music and sounds also introduced in the opening to link appropialy to the theme.
For example 'The unknown'
the opening of this film introduces the film company and directors and editors and edited the film.
gradually the camera pans across the sky showing the sun rise at the same time names of directors, producers and company 'studio canal'.
the camera then zooms into a room showing one of the characters sitting in a darkened room. the film immediatly starts with the acting and story line.
